
🍯🌭Honey Mustard Bird Dogs🍗
Ingredients
- 1 Tsp Paprika
- 2 Tbsp Garlic Powder
- 3 Tbsp onion powder
- 2 tsp Dried Honey Mustard seasoning McCormick seasoning
- Hot Dog Buns
- 1.5 pounds chicken tenders
- 2.5 cups buttermilk
- 2 tbsp honey 1 tbsp for slaw and other for marinade
- 1/2 cup Mustard
- 3 cups flour (dredge chicken) use 1tsp of each dried seasoning to the flour
- 1 bag slaw mixture
- 1/4 cup vinaigrette use your favorite vinaigrette
- 1 tsp salt & Pepper
Instructions
- Add the chicken tenders to a bowl add seasonings to bowl mix and coat the chicken tenders. Make sure they are fully covered with seasonings and add mustard, and 1 tbsp of honey make sure chicken is covered. then pour and add buttermilk. cover with plastic wrap in fridge for 3 hours or overnight.
- in a ziplock bag prepare flour mixture for the Flour season the flour with the same dry seasonings you did with the chicken use about 1tsp of each.
- mix together your slaw using honey and your favorite vinaigrette dressing set aside.
- fry the chicken add chicken to flour mixture and make sure chicken is fully coated with flour. add chicken tender to oil make sure oil is at 300 degrees cook the tender for about 6 minutes 3 minutes on each side.
- remove chicken place on paper towel to soak up any access oil. build your bird dog add slaw chicken tender top with honey mustard 🙂 or mayo. and enjoy
Notes
I like to toast the buns while I fry my chicken so everything can be hot. But toasting the buns are optional.
Also if you want to add about 1tsp of cayanne pepper to give it some kick you can and should.
Frozen chicken strips work for this recipe if you want to cut out the hassle but I suggest the hassle its worth it.
