The Best Homemade Chalupa Tacos
These Chalupas are so buttery and soft! When You Make These You will absolutely love these taco shells! Who wants Store Bought When You can make these at home and they are so EASY!
Ingredients
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- .5 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp salted butter room temp!
- 1 1/3 cup milk
- peanut oil frying
- sour cream
- shredded lettuce
- protein of choice
- salsa
- tomatoes
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl take flour, baking powder, salt, and butter, Mix extremely well add milk SLOWLY! and bring everything together.. and knead . Cover it and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
- place dough on floured surface and roll until smooth. Mold the dough into 10- 15 equal balls. Take one dough ball and a use a rolling pin roll out a 4 to 5-inch circle. Prick the rolled dough a few times with a fork. Prick the rolled dough a few times with a fork.
- Heat peanut oil in a pan on a medium heat. Use tongs and carefully add the dough it will start to puff use tongs to shape into a shell fry flip on side until golden brown It should be done after about 2 minutes of frying.
- Remove the shell and let the oil drain on a paper towel
- build the tacos with protein of your choice lettuce tomato, cheese, sour cream and enjoy!
