Pan Fried chicken & Gravy

Something About Comfort Food that just taste Amazing! I enjoy gravy especially during these cooler months! This pan fried chicken is amazing you don't have to worry about flour and making a mess all you have to do is season your chicken really well and it's going to taste delicious.

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp chicken seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • salt & peper to taste
  • 1 red/ yellow/green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 4 garlic cloves diced

Instructions

  •  Pour the oil into a large stainless or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  • Generously sprinkle the chicken with the dried spices. You can also use your favorite spices or omit any spices I recommended.
  • cooking the drumsticks, cook them for 20 minutes on each side until you get a nice golden crispy skin then turn a third of the way over and cook another side. the chicken will be crispy and a golden brown. remove chicken from skillet, set aside.
  • add the butter once the butter has melted add the bell peppers and garlic diced garlic cloves and sauté them sprinkle the flour whisk its going to turn clumpy Pour the chicken broth and whisk simultaneously if gravy is still too thick add more stock to thin it out.
  • season your gravy with salt and pepper you can also add in more seasonings at this point to get your gravy to the taste you like it. Transfer the chicken back to the skillet cook for another 10 minutes on low
  • serve over mash potatoes and enjoy.

Notes

Spices, remember to season the gravy as well with the same seasonings as the chicken so use about a tsp for the gravy. REMEMBER TASTE AS YOU GO.
If you make your gravy too thick add in a little more chicken stock
if its too thin mix about 1tsp of flour or cornstarch to thicken it up!
enjoy!
