HONEY BUTTER CHICKEN BISCUITS.

Making biscuits from scratch is something I enjoy doing. NOTHING WRONG WITH CAN BISCUITS ON MY LAZY DAYS. But being able to make homemade biscuits and serve them warm makes me happy. So this is your go to biscuit recipe. I HOPE YOU LOVE

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Southern Style Chicken mini chicken patties I used the brand southern style but you can use any brand you want.
  • 4 cups self rising flour
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 stick frozen unsalted butter
  • 1 stick frozen shortening butter flavor
  • 1 tsp salt

Honey butter mixture

  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/3 cup pure raw honey
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tsp  cornstarch

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Cook the chicken according to the directions on the package *I used my air fryer* or you can place them in the oven…when the chicken is done cooking, set aside and begin on the biscuits.
  • combine the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl slightly whisk the flour and salt
  • using a cheese grater, grate the butter and shortening into the flour. Then add the buttermilk into the mixture. using a wooden spoon mix the ingredients together.
  • lightly sprinkle flour on your work surface and also on your hands and knead the dough will be pretty sticky so you’ll want to lightly flour your hands. Do not over knead! you want the butter to stay cold. you want to make layers
  • Use a biscuit cutter or the open rim of a cup to cut the biscuits. and put them on a baking sheet. brush the top of the biscuits with a little leftover melted butter. bake in oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown.

make the honey butter glaze

  • In a small cup combine the 2 tsp of cornstarch with 1 tbsp water. set the slurry aside this will thicken the glaze.
  • In a small saucepan on low heat add the honey and butter and water. once it bubbles add the slurry it will thicken it. if too thick add more butter to loosen it.
  • add the chicken to the biscuits and brush the chicken with the glaze and also the top of the biscuits. This will be so delicous.

Notes

the glaze is optional you can make this biscuits and just add butter to the top and serve.
