Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 Cup yellow cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup Ap Flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup Honey plus 2 Tbps
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk room temp
  • 2 large eggs room temp
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk room temp
  • 2 tbsp sour cream room temp
  • 2 sticks butter melted
  • 1 tbsp crisco
  • 2 drops yellow food coloring

Honey cinnamon Butter 🧈✨

  • 1 stick butter soften
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp honey

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven,Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • Place 1 tablespoon of Crisco in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet, then place the skillet in the oven while it preheats. Allow the Crisco to melt completely and the skillet to get piping hot. This creates the signature crispy, golden edges that make Southern cornbread so delicious.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together Yellow cornmeal ,All-purpose, flour,Baking powder ,Baking soda, Salt, Granulated sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together: Buttermilk,Sour cream ,Honey,Vanilla extract, Melted butter ,Canola oil,Egg yolk,Whole eggs and yellow food coloring.
    Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  • Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
    Gently fold together until just combined. Do not over-mix.
  • Carefully remove the hot cast iron skillet from the oven and add more crisco if needed.
  • Pour the batter into the hot skillet.
    Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.as soon as it comes out of the oven, brush the top with melted butter for an extra buttery finish.
  • While the cornbread is baking,
    Mix Softened butter,Honey, cinnamon.Fold together with spatula
  • Serve over warm slices of cornbread and let it melt into every bite.
