- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk 105–110°F
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter room temp
- 2 ¼ tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 3 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- In the KitchenAid bowl combine:Warm milkSugarYeastLet sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the DoughAttach the dough hook.Add:EggsVanillaFlourSalt
- Mix on Speed 2 for about 2 minutes.Add softened butter a tablespoon at a time.Continue kneading 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth, soft, and slightly tacky.
- 3. First RisePlace dough into a lightly greased bowl. I used extra melted butterCover with plastic wrap or a towel.Let rise 1–1½ hours or until doubled.
- 4. Shape the DonutsPunch the dough down.Roll to ½-inch thick.Cut donuts and donut holes.Place on baking sheets.Cover lightly.
- Second RiseLet the donuts rise 30–45 minutes.They should look puffy and jiggle slightly when moved.
- Heat oil to 350°F.FryAbout 45–60 seconds per side.Don’t overcook. They should be a light golden color.Drain briefly on a wire rack.
- 7. GlazeWhisk together:Powdered sugarMilkButterVanillaPinch of saltDip warm donuts completely.Place on a wire rack.
